An individual was caught driving in the wrong direction with his car. Montreal policemen noticed he was agitated and smelled like alcohol. They found drugs in his possession. The individual also admitted to the police he had drunken several beer and had smoked marijuana. Therefore, he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol under Sections 253 and 255 of the Criminal Code and resorted to the services of one of our criminal lawyers.
Lawyer Luc Simard analysed the case and set a date for trial (another lawyer from our team represented him at the trial). Two police officers testified, and then the client did. The client explained that the wrong manoeuver was accidental and that his ability to drive was not affected by the substances. He was acquitted by the Judge because she found there was reasonable doubt about his guilt.
Some clients of Mr Simard are found guilty. See notice.
