A client of Mr. Xavier Cormier was charged with committing public mischief (Section 140 (1) c) (2) (a) Criminal Code of Canada). She had to avoid having a criminal record, especially because of her travels to the United States and her job.
The client pleaded guilty to the public mischief charges. A lawyer working with Mr. Cormier asked the Judge to grant the client an absolute discharge, but the Prosecutor did not agree with her. The Judge agreed with the lawyer’s suggestion and granted the client an absolute discharge.
Not all Mr. Cormier’s clients are granted a discharge. See notice.
