A telecommunications company employee was arrested in Montreal for having defrauded a person when selling him a cell phone. According to the charges, it seems she received a fraudulent refund on this phone before selling it. Therefore, she was charged with fraud under $ 5,000$ (Section 380 Criminal Code). Our criminal lawyer set a date for the trial.
During the trial, he had his client testify; she admitted having carried out the refund with the help of an accomplice. However, our lawyer pleaded with the Judge that the charges mistakenly dealt with fraud against the phone purchaser, rather than towards the company having issued the refund.
After the Judge reflected on the case, she acquitted the defendant.
Not all clients of Mr Xavier Cormier are acquitted. See notice.
